Second Africa Regional Preparatory Conference, Accra, Ghana, 2-4 February 2005

Representatives of the WSIS Gender Caucus were present at this Regional Conference. The Caucus was invited to give a presentation on "WSIS Gender Caucus: Promoting Gender in the Information Society" on the 30th January during the "Gender in the Information Society" breakout session of the Multi-stakeholder Partnership Pre-conference Workshop. The second meeting of the Preparatory Committee (PrepCom-2 of the Tunis phase) will take place in Geneva (Switzerland) from 17-25 February 2005. Online registration is now available, where a username and password (sent to designated focal points on 5 January 2005) is required to access the system. While the deadline for accreditation and registration procedures is 6 January 2005, that for fellowship applications is 21 January 2005. More Info

Gender Caucus Events at WSIS 8-13 December 2003

In an attempt to make strategic and intellectual inputs at the Summit and with a special focus on development issues, the WSIS-GC is organising events centred around 3 tiers: a series of panel discussions, debates and roundtables; a multimedia exhibition showcasing materials on women�s participation and contributions and celebratory spaces celebrating women�s contribution to the Information Society.
