Profile - Dr. Fatima Mohamed Al-BalooshiDr. Fatima Mohamed Al-Balooshi
Dr. Fatima Mohamed Al-Balooshi, is currently working in the capacity of Assistant Professor of Educational Technology, at the College of Education, University of Bahrain. She also holds the position of the Dean, at the same University. Her past professional experience also includes her work as a Chairman at the Department of Educational Technology, College of Education, and Computer Curriculum Specialist and Science Teacher, at the Ministry of Education, Bahrain. Dr. Fatima’s educational qualifications range from a B.Sc degree which she acquired from the Concordia University, Canada. Thereon, she moved to New York, Columbia University, for her M.A in Computing in Education and further in Instructional Technology and Media. In 1992 from the same university she acquired her Doctor of Education in Instructional Technology and Media. She has also been accredited with various fellowships and awards. Some of these have been the Excellence of Achievement Award at Isa Town, Bahrain and Eisenhower Exchange Fellowships, Inc., at Philadelphia, P.A., USA. She also holds significant positions at various institutions and organisations. Some of these are: Information Center for Women and Children, Bahrain (Member of the Board of Trustees), International Society for Technology in Education, Eugene, O.R., USA (Member), Bahrain Information Technology Society (Board Member, Chairman and founding member of the "Women and Information Technology Special Interest Group"), Bahraini Society for Women Development (Founding and Board Member, Chairman of the "Developmental Projects Unit"), Economic Development Board, ICT Committee, Bahrain (Member), and the Consultative Commission for the Supreme Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Oman, Gcc (Member).
