Profile - Florence EttaFlorence Etta (Knowledge Analyst, ESARO)
Florence Ebam Etta holds a PhD in the Psychology of Learning from the University of London Institute of Education, a Masters (Ed.) in Psychology and Sociology of Education and a BSc in Zoology (Education), both from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She lectured and researched the Sociology and Psychology of Education, Human Development, Learning, Testing and measurement, Abnormal Psychology and Research Methods for 16 years in tertiary educational institutions in Nigeria. She has been a consultant to FAWE, the Rockefeller Foundation, CODESRIA and UNICEF, USAID and IDRC as well as a member of numerous multidisciplinary research and project/teams. She has authored and co-authored a number of books and articles in the areas of cognitive Psychology, Learning, Child Care, Development and Nutrition, Gender and the Environment. She has been actively involved as an NGO activist/leader with women, children and environmental issues. She is a member of a number of professional associations including the British Psychological Society, the Society for International Development and the Association for Women in Development. Since 1999, she has been working as a research/knowledge and an evaluation analyst concerned with project appraisal, development, monitoring and evaluation. In this position, Florence has participated as researcher/investigator and manager in three pan –African studies of ICTs (projects) in Africa and is currently concluding the editing of a book on African Telecentres.
