The WSIS Gender Caucus Steering Committee is keen to encourage the formation of regional groups which can organise activities and identify areas of focus that are pertinent to their regions.

Africa

The African Regional group was launched in May 2003 at the UNIFEM conference in May 2003 on Bridging the Digital Divide through Strategic Partnerships. The group presented a statement to the conference the main elements of which were endorsed by the Kampala Declaration.

We encourage partners to create and organise regional groups for:

Asia Pacfic;

Europe and North America;

Latin America and the Caribbean; and

Western Asia and Middle East.
